Take a Look Around

What is driving your desire for change? (Something is bothering you...right?).

What, specifically is your call to action?

Why are you answering the call?

Sometimes we need to make changes to our environment and sometimes we need to change the way we are thinking. Are you and tired of your own negativity? Did you experience something aweful that is consuming your thoughts?

Why are you answering the call?

Why are you answering the call?

Why are you answering the call?

A Call to Action may be subtle or jarring. It can be deeply personal or something presenting on a grander scale.

Why not avoid that which beckons change?

Why deny the shelter of blissful ignorance? After all, routine wards off fear.

Why Should I Answer the Call?

Obvious or Something Deeper

Why are you answering the call?

Obvious or Something Deeper

Be careful.

Answering the call often means entering the unknown. You may be starting off with a clear idea of what you want only to discover deeper more complicated problems  of which you are yet unaware.

Are You Ready?

    • Adults: Visualize the “tools” they need to reach their personal goals.

  1. Experiential Family Therapy Activity: Identify a current family challenge, and brainstorm how the family can work together to overcome it.
  2. Executive Functioning Homework Assignment:

Self-Help Activity for Week 2

  • Parent-Child Attachment Activity: Work together to create a Family Toolbox—a list of tools (real or symbolic) that the family can use to support each other in difficult times.
  • Executive Functioning Activity:
    • Children: Set a short-term goal for the week and use a goal map to show each step needed to reach that goal (e.g., for school, a hobby, or a chore).
    • Adults: Prioritize tasks for the week and block out time to work on each goal. At the end of the week, review how well the time-blocking worked and where improvements can be made.
